铁大缸也是铜雕工艺品之一，很多唐县铜雕厂都铸造铁大缸，根据相关的记载可以知道由湖南省收藏协会绥宁县的会员在绥宁县武阳镇民间发现并收集。铁缸用古时传统的泥范法手工制作，鼎身有6圈弦纹（起加强缸体强度的作用），从上往下数，第二圈上有花纹饰。缸身上部两边有四耳，每只耳有一小孔（用于扣环），底部有三个力士神头像（当地人叫缸龙菩萨）用头顶托着缸。这种铁缸在当时是“大户人家”用来贮存饮用水及消防用水的器具。缸身一圈上有铭文:隆武二年十二月立造水江一口永为古.(“江”就是绥宁方言“缸”的意思)。
